You never know who you might bump into at MPC...
We purposely put everyone at the same level by not giving out badges and passes and creating open spaces for everybody to hang out between sessions.
You may be sitting next to a legendary platinum producer, overhear an executive giving advice to a newcomer, or take part in a listening session in one of our private booths.
But most of all, everybody you interact with has the same passion for the craft as you do!
Whether it’s discussing tools, like the new app, hardware or software, sample banks, or geeking on sounds and effects, you know we all speak the same language of music production, and everybody tells us how refreshing it is! Suddenly, you are not a misunderstood artist anymore. You are among your peers!
You might also meet your next production partner, or make a connection that leads to your first placement. We’re not inventing this. We have real-life examples! Ask Dson Beats what he thinks...
On top of this, we created listening sessions where producers get to schedule a meeting with a publisher, artist, A&R, or executive and receive feedback on the spot. This has also led to partnerships, placements, and opportunities of all sorts.
At the end of the day, the most precious asset is time... And sometimes, all it takes is 5 min with the right person to get the information or advice you needed!
If you’ve ever tried to reach out to the industry without a middleman, you know how difficult it can be. You need to know the codes and jump through a lot of loopholes to make it happen! Which is why we try to facilitate this part of the process.
We maintain a networking area and private booths and invite reputable professionals who come to help our attendees by giving them an ear and some time. But they are also active, which means 10 minutes could lead to a life-changing opportunity. Not to mention we’ve seen random listening sessions happen in a corridor or a corner as well!
These are just some of the extras you won’t find anywhere else… We know what this means! We at MPC spent a big part of our careers going to events overseas to access these kinds of events. And before social media was a thing we had to create the opportunity, you had to go out there, show up in person, and hope and pray for a chance to connect.
